Bestselling author TJ Klune to visit hometown

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Roseburg Public Library invites the community to a book reading and signing with New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18.

Klune, who was born and raised in Roseburg, is on tour with his new novel, “In the Lives of Puppets,” a fantasy adventure inspired by Carlo Collodi’s “The Adventures of Pinocchio.” “Puppets” received a starred review by Library Journal, which noted the book is “an epic quest of rescue and discovery [with] the author's trademark charm, heart, and bittersweetness.”

Klune, who has written more than 30 books for young adults and adults, has won the Lambda Literary Award, and his standalone novel “The House in the Cerulean Sea” received the Alex Award and Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature. The program, which will be held in the library’s Ford Room, is free and open to the public. The library will give away 40 copies of “In the Lives of Puppets” to attendees through a random drawing. The giveaway is made possible by the Friends of the Roseburg Public Library and While Away Books.
