ROSEBURG, Ore. – City of Roseburg buildings will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Roseburg City Hall, the Roseburg Public Safety Center, Roseburg Public Library and other City buildings will be closed to the public. The library will be open Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Police and firefighters will continue to provide public safety on Veterans Day, a federal holiday to honor all vets who’ve served in war or peace. Veterans Day marks the end of World War I or “the war to end all wars” on Nov. 11, 1918, and was originally known as Armistice Day, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Roseburg city parks will be open to the public. Lobbies at City Hall, 900 S.E. Douglas Ave., and the Public Safety Center, 700 S.E. Douglas Ave., are normally open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 67th Douglas County Veterans Day Parade will be held in downtown Roseburg at 11 a.m. Friday. The grand marshals are U.S. Navy submariners. The parade is organized by the Douglas County Veterans Day Parade Committee, our community partners.
