City offices, library to close for winter holidays

ROSEBURG, Ore. – City buildings will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday, and Thursday, Jan. 1, for the New Year holiday.

Roseburg City Hall at 900 S.E. Douglas Ave., the Roseburg Public Safety Center at 700 S.E. Douglas Ave., Roseburg Public Library at 1409 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd., and other City buildings will be closed to the public on those days.

Police and firefighters will continue to provide public safety throughout the holidays.

The library and other City buildings will be open on Christmas Eve on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Lobbies at City Hall and the Public Safety Center are normally open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.

However, the library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 27, and the parking lot book drop will be locked from Thursday, Dec. 25, through Monday, Dec. 29. The library does not assess overdue fines, so hang onto materials until the library reopens Tuesday, Dec. 30. The library will be open Friday, Jan. 2, and Saturday, Jan. 3. The book drop will be open Thursday, Jan. 1.

The library’s Winter Reading Program runs through Wednesday, Dec. 31, with a chance to read for a free book. The Silent Book Group will meet at the library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18.
