City of Roseburg Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting
Roseburg OR – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Roseburg for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019. The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
City Finance Director, Ron Harker, comments on the award. “The City of Roseburg is proud to have received the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the past twenty-seven consecutive years,” says Harker. “It is our belief that participation in the GFOA award program enhances our citizens’ understanding of Roseburg finances. Attaining this award demonstrates our belief that sharing financial information in formats consistent with the highest standards in government financial reporting is the best way to achieve financial transparency.”
