ROSEBURG, Ore. – Looking for a fun way to cool off this summer?
You’re in luck: Roseburg’s interactive spray park will soon open for the season!
Fir Grove Park Splash Pad opens Memorial Day Weekend – offering an oasis where you can escape the heat this summer.
Roseburg Parks and Recreation staff will soon prepare for the splash pad’s Saturday, May 24, opening. Park crews will pressure-wash the splash pad deck, inspect the ultraviolet water treatment system that kills any algae or bacteria left over after filtration, clean and replace water-feature spray nozzles, and finally clean and fill the system’s 4,000-gallon water tank and its valves.
The splash pad is a free seasonal offering open daily each summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to dusk. The splash pad is located in Fir Grove Park, just off Harvard Avenue behind the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, 1624 W. Harvard Ave. in Roseburg.
“We’re always excited to open the Splash Pad each year,” said Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator Tracy David. “We encourage families to take advantage of this popular park feature as a low-cost way to enjoy summer in our parks.”
Shade is limited, so Parks and Recreation staff encourage residents to be prepared with sunscreen.
