Women’s ‘Just for Fun’ Golf Tees Off

Roseburg, OR – Golf can be an intimidating sport…but not this kind! Women’s ‘Just for Fun’ Summer Golf is back for another season at the Stewart Park Golf Course. Sponsored by the City of Roseburg Parks and Recreation Division, this fun, lighthearted women’s golf class is perfect for friends old and new.

Each class is held on Monday evenings, July 6 & 20 and August 3 & 17. Players can choose one or all of the classes, whichever fits their schedules. Check in begins at 5 p.m. with tee times at 5:30 p.m.

Players will need to bring their own set of clubs and have a basic understanding of the game (program not instructional lessons). Players do not need to have an established handicap in order to participate.

Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator, Velorie Ligon talks about the recreation program. “I love this class because it gives women an opportunity to play together in a relaxed environment, and each week gives everyone a chance to make new friends.” beams Ligon. “No one takes their game too seriously; it’s just good fun.”

The fee to join the women’s class is $5 per night plus a green fee of $10. Cart rentals are available for $5 per rider. Come out and enjoy some socially distanced fun!
