Applications available for Roseburg City Council vacancy
ROSEBURG, OR – The city of Roseburg is accepting applications for a vacant city council seat following the resignation of Councilor Sheila Cox.
The Roseburg City Council voted on Monday, May 10, during a regular meeting to accept the resignation of Cox, who represented Roseburg’s Ward 2, and to begin the process of filling the vacant seat.
The city is now seeking qualified applicants who live in Ward 2 and would like to apply for the opening.
Ward 2 residents must submit completed applications by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. The city council will conduct interviews of qualified applicants on Monday, June 14, 2021.
The council will appoint a replacement to serve for the rest of Cox’s term, which runs through Dec. 31, 2022.
Interested applicants can pick up a form from the Finance Department in the lobby of City Hall, 900 S.E. Douglas Ave. in Roseburg. Alternatively, applicants can download a form from www.CityofRoseburg.org (from the Mayor/Council page) or request a form by email at info@cityofrorseburg.org.
