City Commission Positions Available

Roseburg OR – The City of Roseburg is seeking applicants for four commission positions; one for the Planning Commission, one for the Airport Commission, and two for the Budget Committee. Planning Commission

The Planning Commission meets at 7 pm on the first Monday of each month to consider long and short range land use development issues within the City and Urban Growth Boundary. The Commission consists of seven citizens appointed by the City Council. The Planning Commission reviews and takes action on land use and development projects based on the provisions of the City of Roseburg Land Use and Development Regulations (LUDR). The Commission reviews and acts on quasi-judicial applications (those filed by land owners and/or their agents) and on Legislative applications initiated by the City. While some actions by the Commission are recommended to the City Council for final approval, other decisions are final unless appealed to the Council.

At least six members of the Commission must be residents of the City; the other member may reside outside City limits, but must reside within the Urban Growth Boundary. The current vacancy requires residency within the City. The term starts in January 2021 and ends on December 31, 2024. Airport Commission

The Airport Commission, which meets the third Thursday of every even month at 3:30 pm, develops policies for future development of the Airport, including goals and objectives, prioritizing listing of capital improvements, and financing. The Commission is composed of seven members, four of which must be residents of Roseburg. This open position requires residency within the City, and its term will begin in January 2021 and end December 31, 2023. Budget Committee

The Budget Committee meets as needed, generally at 7 pm during the spring to review the City’s proposed annual operating budget and any supplemental budgets. The Committee works collaboratively with staff to make recommendations to the City Council for final budget approval. City residency is required and both vacancies are open until filled.
