ROSEBURG, Ore. – Kick back under the stars for some family friendly entertainment when Movies in the Park returns in June.
Cosponsored by Roseburg Parks and Recreation and Rogue Credit Union, the free series will be held at the Stewart Park Nichols Band Shell -- aka the “Half Shell” -- the first four Friday evenings in June. Bring a blanket and enjoy a fun-filled evening with friends and family.
Each week, pre-movie entertainment is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Past entertainment has varied from music and kids’ crafts to wild animal meet-and-greets. Entertainment is followed by a PG-rated movie starting at dusk, or about 9 p.m. Popcorn and snacks are available to purchase. Guests can bring their own food and drinks. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
“We’re excited to offer a free event this summer to people looking for something fun to do together as a family,” said Roseburg Recreation Coordinator Tracy Moser.
This summer’s featured movies will be:
• Friday, June 2: The Bad Guys
• Friday, June 9: Minions: The Rise of Gru
• Friday, June 16: DC League of Super-Pets
• Friday, June 23: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
All movies and activities are weather-permitting and subject to change. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No alcohol or tobacco is allowed in the park. Please leave pets at home, as there are no dogs allowed at Movies in the Park.
