Edenbower Boulevard temporary closure

RoseburgAdmin

ROSEBURG, Ore. – A section of NW Edenbower Boulevard from Aviation Drive to Stephens Street will be closed this weekend while the City and Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad replace the Edenbower Boulevard railroad crossing.

That section of Edenbower Boulevard will close to all traffic between 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, as a contractor replaces the Edenbower Boulevard railroad crossing at Stephens Street.

Traffic control signs will be in place to detour motorists around the closure. Traffic moving east on Edenbower Boulevard will be required to detour onto NW Aviation Drive to access NE Stephens Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured around the closure using NW Stewart Parkway and NW Aviation Drive, or by using Hooker Road to NW Aviation Drive.

Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad will begin work Friday morning to rebuild the crossing including new ballast, ties, rail and concrete crossing panels. Sunday night, after the railroad company has completed its work, Knife River Materials will pave the asphalt approaches to the concrete crossing panels.

The City appreciates motorists’ understanding and patience throughout the project, and asks motorists to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
