Enter the Arbor Day Photo Contest!

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Roseburg Parks and Recreation invites you to enter the 2025 Arbor Day Photo Contest starting Monday, March 17.

Grab your camera and explore the beauty of Roseburg trees – including the great variety found in city parks. Deciduous or coniferous, all trees have a story to tell. Capture your favorite tree on film and possibly get your photo featured in the Spring 2025 City Connection e-newsletter! The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025.

“Spring is the perfect time to go tree hunting in Roseburg. The trees are blooming, everything’s turning green again, and it should make for some really interesting photos,” said Roseburg Recreation Coordinator Tracy David. “Since Roseburg is a designated Tree City USA, there are many to choose from.”

The top three photos will be announced and showcased on Arbor Day – Friday, April 25 – on the Roseburg Parks and Recreation Facebook page. The winning photos also will be highlighted in the City Connection e-newsletter later this spring. Sign up to get the City Connection e-newsletter emailed to your inbox.

Anyone is eligible to submit one photo taken in the Roseburg area (Roseburg, Melrose, Green, Lookingglass, Garden Valley and Winchester) depicting a tree or grove of trees. Be sure to include the photo location in your entry.

Please remember: The contest is supposed to be fun! Use whatever camera you like or feel most comfortable with. But please don’t use Adobe Photoshop or other editing software to alter the appearance or reality of the photo.

Only photos submitted through the online contest submission form will be considered. Emailed photos will not be considered. The City reserves the right to post additional entries and to not display a photo deemed inappropriate. Don’t forget to like and follow the City’s Facebook page and the Roseburg Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

RULES:
WHAT: Submit one JPEG photo less than 5MB and illustrating a tree or grove of trees that is taken between Monday, March 17, 2025, and Friday, April 18, 2025, in the Roseburg area (anywhere considered to have a Roseburg address, including Melrose, Green, Lookingglass, Garden Valley and Winchester). Be sure to IDENTIFY the location of the photo when filling out the form. Additional photos won’t be considered.
HOW: Fill out this form, upload a JPEG photo less than 5MB using the link and click “submit.” A good Internet connection may be needed to upload larger photos. Only one submission will be allowed per person.
DEADLINE: 5 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025
