Fire Department training through April 15

ROSEBURG --The City of Roseburg Fire Department, in conjunction with Douglas County Fire District #2, will be conducting training exercises at the site of the Old Logger’s Pizza, located at 2060 NW Stewart Parkway, from April 4 to April 15, 2022. The training site is currently a vacant building located at the Roseburg Marketplace in Northwest Roseburg. Training will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. each day.

This training opportunity provides the ability to not only train together, but also to improve the effectiveness of interoperability between multiple agencies in addition to continuing the development of their firefighting skills

The training objectives will include command and control procedures for multi-unit incident response, fire ground tactics, victim search and rescue, and firefighter survival. Training session one, on April 4, 6, and 8, will include Command and Control as well as Fire Ground Tactics. Training session two, on April 5, 7, and 9 will include Victim Search and Rescue. Training session three, on April 11, 13, and 15 will include Firefighter Survival and Rapid Intervention Teams.

As always, safety will be the number one priority for personnel participating in the training. The Roseburg Fire Department would like to thank the property owners of the Roseburg Market Place for providing the property to make this training opportunity possible.
