Free ‘Yoga in the Park’ starts in July
ROSEBURG, Ore. – Start your weekends in a state of bliss when free “Yoga in the Park” sessions begin on Saturday mornings in July.
Roseburg Parks and Recreation -- along with Zen Den Yoga owner Rose Bryant and other instructors -- are sponsoring free Saturday morning yoga sessions in a tranquil riverfront setting in Stewart Park east of the band shell. Yoga sessions will be held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. from Saturday, July 6, through Aug. 31.
Classes showcasing various styles and techniques will be taught by Bryant, who has trained as a yoga instructor at Yoga Vermont and in India, and an awesome crew of other local volunteer instructors.
The classes are suited to all levels of yoga practice.
“This is one of our most popular recreation programs and we see members from the community of all ages attending. This form of low-impact fitness and stretching provides many health benefits that may improve your quality of life,” said Roseburg Parks and Recreation Coordinator Tracy David. “This class is especially beneficial for those who may be new to yoga.”
Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in and be ready to start at 10 a.m. Bring your own yoga mat or blanket and wear stretchy, comfortable clothing. Organizers recommend not eating or drinking for at least one hour before class.
Those who arrive early to sign in will be entered into a Thrive Umpqua-cosponsored drawing held after each class.
