Library to host Holocaust education program

RoseburgAdmin

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Roseburg Public Library invites the community to a Zoom online event with the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education (OJMCHE) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.

OJMCHE educators will present “Resistance and Rescue During the Holocaust,” a 90-minute workshop that will address human behavior and analyze both the action and inaction of people confronted with systematic hatred toward others. OJMCHE will share tools of resistance and discuss, contextualize and examine examples of Jews and non-Jews who engaged in resistance during the Holocaust. The program will conclude with a group discussion.

OJMCHE is Oregon’s leader in continuing awareness and education about the Holocaust -- the systematic, bureaucratic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of 6 million Jews and millions of others by the Nazi regime and its collaborators from 1933 to 1945. Learn more on OJMCHE’s website at www.ojmche.org.

To receive the Zoom link to the event, email library@cityofroseburg.org or call 541-492-7051. The program will not be live streamed.
