Mayor to deliver State of the City 2024
ROSEBURG, Ore. – Come hear highlights on what’s been happening at the City of Roseburg over the last year -- plus learn what’s in store for the year to come when Mayor Larry Rich shares the State of the City Monday, Jan. 22.
The public is invited to attend when the mayor formally delivers the 2024 State of the City address at the Roseburg City Council meeting at 7 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers. His speech will be accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation.
Other items on the agenda include a potential contract for the Roseburg Dream Center to operate an urban campground at their site, possible purchase of a NE Winchester Street property for use as an urban campground, a Roseburg Homeless Commission appointment, updating the City’s Equal Opportunity and Nondiscrimination Statement, an animal control ordinance amendment, a Douglas County Deer Creek Bridge Project intergovernmental agreement, Jackson Street and Commercial Avenue water main replacement project and an airport industrial property lease renewal.

Rich has served as the mayor of Roseburg since 1999. First elected Mayor in 1998, he has helped establish local law and policy for the City of Roseburg through a period of change, challenges and growth. Before becoming mayor, he had served on the Roseburg Planning Commission and on the City Council in Junction City, Oregon.
Rich also served the city of Roseburg as the Assistant Principal at Roseburg High School. Previously, he had worked as a computer and math teacher at Junction City High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a Master’s in math education from Oregon State University. In addition, he earned his administration license from the University of Oregon.
Rich has maintained other involvement in the Roseburg community on the boards of the United Way, United Community Action Network, Saving Grace Animal Shelter, YMCA and several other organizations including the Japanese Sister City Program.
