Roseburg Senior Center opens Cooling Center Friday and Saturday this week
ROSEBURG, Ore. – The Roseburg Senior Center will open a cooling center Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10 to offer shelter from the heat wave.
Roseburg Senior Center officials will open the building at 1614 S.E. Stephens Street as a cooling center from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9 with lunch and dinner being served, and on Saturday, September 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a brunch and dinner being served. Temperatures are projected to be upwards in the high 90’s to low 100’s.
The cooling center can still use donations of ice, water, sundries, soft snacks and easy-to-chew fresh fruit (bananas, etc.), oranges and socks and underwear of all sizes -- for women and men.
Those who have participated in previous cooling centers shared, "I love how the Senior Center treats the people I love and serve. The Seniors genuinely cared for everyone who came through that door." Max 2021.

Those who’d like to volunteer can sign up on the center’s volunteer application form.
City officials would like to thank the Roseburg Senior Center for stepping up to fill this need.
