Share and preserve Roseburg 150 photos!
ROSEBURG, Ore. – As Roseburg prepares to turn 150 years old Monday, Oct. 3, the City invites everyone celebrating at Roseburg 150 Sesquicentennial events throughout October to share your photos and help preserve memories.
City staff collaborated to create an easy way to submit and help preserve photos for six events being held around Roseburg – starting Sunday, Oct. 2, with the Roseburg 150 Party in the Park and Roseburg 150 Fun/Run Walk, both in Stewart Park, and ending with the Neewollah Parade on Monday, Oct. 31.
Other events to submit photos for include a Sesquicentennial Time Capsule Ceremony outside City Hall at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3; Blocktober Fest in downtown Roseburg at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8; and the 150th Birthday Dinner at the Elks Lodge at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
The City has created a space to share your photos with the community and a way to preserve our memories of these events. The photos will be microfilmed for permanent retention in color as well as black and white, then archived in the City vault and with the Oregon State Archives.
Plus, if you submit your photos by Monday, Oct. 17, your photos might be featured in the October City Connection e-newsletter.
We’re asking each person to submit one photo per event using this form on the City website: cityofroseburg.org/roseburg-turns-150-photos-submission.
Photos can be up to 5MB each. A good Internet connection may be needed to upload larger photos. Please fill out the form and identify who and/or what is in each photo. Submit photos by Monday, Oct. 17, to be considered for the October City Connection. Final deadline for all photos is Friday, Nov. 11.
For more information, contact us at info@cityofroseburg.org. But please: Don’t email photos. Photos must go through automated software. Emailed photos cannot be posted.
