Zumba returns to Stewart Park
ROSEBURG, Ore. – Are you ready to Zumba?
“Zumba in the Park” returns in one week!
Stewart Park is the place to burn calories on Wednesday evenings during free Zumba sessions from June 12 through August 28, thanks to the YMCA of Douglas County and Roseburg Parks and Recreation.
These sessions take the “work” out of workout by mixing low- and high-intensity moves in these interval-style, family friendly dance fitness parties. Y instructors will teach the high-energy cardio dance fitness classes to upbeat music every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the grass just west of the large pavilion.
“We are lucky to be partnering with the Roseburg YMCA again this year to offer ‘Zumba in the Park’ as a free way to be active outdoors this summer. Stewart Park is the perfect setting for this type of group activity,” said Roseburg Parks and Recreation Coordinator Tracy David.
Zumba is a dance fitness program developed in the 1990s by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez.
No registration is needed for the classes in Roseburg, but please arrive a few minutes early to sign in. Wear comfortable workout clothing and bring water.
